Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a finance team in Illinois. This role is suited for someone who can manage core accounting activities, support accurate financial reporting, and help maintain strong month-end processes. The ideal candidate brings solid experience with inventory-related accounting and is comfortable working across the general ledger to ensure timely and reliable results.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead monthly closing activities by preparing entries, reviewing account activity, and helping deliver accurate results within established deadlines.
  • Maintain the general ledger by recording financial transactions and verifying that balances are complete and properly supported.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure reporting is accurate, organized, and aligned with company requirements.
  • Perform account reconciliations on a regular basis, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  • Complete bank reconciliations by comparing internal records to external statements and following up on outstanding items.
  • Support inventory accounting by monitoring related transactions, validating balances, and assisting with reporting tied to stock activity.
  • Create and post journal entries with appropriate documentation and a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Contribute to process improvements within accounting operations, including support for changes to systems or workflows when needed.
