401(k) plan matches 100% of your 401(k) deferrals up to 10% Job Summary The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for managing cost accounting activities for a manufacturing operation, including inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis. This role partners with operations leadership to improve financial performance, support strategic decision-making, and ensure accurate reporting of manufacturing costs. Key Responsibilities Maintain and analyze standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead
Monitor manufacturing variances and provide detailed analysis of production performance
Prepare and review inventory reconciliations, cycle count adjustments, and physical inventory results
Analyze cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory reserves, scrap, and manufacturing efficiencies
Partner with operations and plant leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
Support month-end and year-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
Manage the fixed asset ledger, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliation to the general ledger
Oversee Construction in Progress (CIP) tracking
ensure costs are properly accumulated, projects are placed in service on time, and capitalization policies are applied consistently
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and annual standard cost roll processes
Develop and maintain cost accounting reports, KPIs, and financial dashboards
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP standards
Support external audits and provide requested financial documentation and analysis
Assist with ERP system enhancements, costing updates, and process optimization initiatives
Collaborate cross-functionally with purchasing, supply chain, and production Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments
Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
Knowledge of GAAP and manufacturing financial processes
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
