Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team on a contract basis, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role for the ideal candidate. This position is based in Elkhart, Indiana, and requires someone who is detail oriented and can work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities:
  • Manage month-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Oversee general ledger activities, maintaining precision and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to support financial transactions.
  • Perform account reconciliations to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between internal records and bank statements.
  • Utilize the AS400 system effectively to support accounting operations.
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
  • Provide insights and support to management for decision-making purposes.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory and organizational financial policies.
  • Monitor and address issues within accounts payable and collections as needed. Requirements
  • Proven experience in month-end close procedures and financial reporting.
  • Strong proficiency in managing general ledger activities.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze journal entries with accuracy.
  • Experience in performing account and bank reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with the AS400 system is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
