Chief Financial Officer (CFO)- Summary We are hiring a Construction Accountant to manage project billing, AIA applications, accounts receivable, and service billing support for our commercial HVAC projects.

- Key Responsibilities Project Billing & AIA Pay Applications
- Prepare and submit
AIA G702/G703
billing packages- Track retainage, lien waivers, and billing schedules
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure accurate percent-complete reporting
- Monitor contract values, change orders, and approved extras Accounts Receivable & Collections
- Track outstanding receivables and follow up with GC/AP contacts
- Resolve billing discrepancies
- Maintain documentation for payment applications and compliance Service Billing Support
- Assist the Service Manager with service billing preparation and accuracy
- Review service work orders for completeness, proper coding, and billable items
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing for service calls
- Identify and recommend streamlined processes to improve service billing efficiency
- Collaborate with the Service Manager and dispatcher to reduce bottlenecks and improve workflow Project Support & Coordination
- Work closely with the Project Manager, Service Manager, and field teams
- Assist with project setup, budgets, and cost tracking
- Support internal reporting and forecasting needs Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain certificates of insurance, W-9s, and vendor compliance
- Prepare lien waivers and release documents
- Ensure all billing and job documentation is audit-ready
- Qualifications Required
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Experience in construction accounting or AIA billing (job costing experience a plus)
- Strong Excel skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work on-site and collaborate with operations teams Preferred
- Experience with construction accounting systems (Computer Ease or JD Edwards a plus)
- HVAC, mechanical, or subcontractor industry experience
- Familiarity with retainage, change orders, and contract billing
