Budgeting Full Job Description Purpose of the
Position:
This position is assigned to work within the finance department as an accountant to correct old, open projects to the point of having those projects closed out in PeopleSoft and Euna (Financial & Grants software). In addition, this position will act as the Team Lead and maintain tracking of the status of the grants/projects being reconciled to the point of being closed in PeopleSoft and Euna (Finance and Grants software). These taskswill involve a large amount of audit work, which will lead to the need tocreate journal entries and/or revenue transactions. This position will require the ability towork independently but also know when to ask questions and/or coordinatetransactions with other teams within finance.

Reconcileprojects Auditproject activities from the past to correct the activities by project ProcessJournal Entries as needed Reconcileand request assigned projects to be closed upon completion Engagein comprehensive reviews of financial data Processrevenue transactions within PeopleSoft as needed Reviewand understand Notice of Awards and Grant Requirements as they relate to thereconciliation of grants/projects Maintainlisting of all projects/grants to be reconciled and the status of each
JobRequirements:
Thoroughknowledge and the ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Thorough knowledge and the ability to apply Generally Accepted Audit Standards and related theories Thorough knowledge of Governmental Accounting Broad knowledge of federal, state and agency budgeting and fiscal policies and procedures Extensive knowledge of agency organization and function Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with all levels of the organization Ability to work under pressure and to practice diplomacy, tact, and courtesy Ability to work independently Ability to problem-solve and research and recommend remedies to complex issues Ability to develop and follow effective procedures Ability to stay organized and maintain appropriate communication with the "Clean Up Project" group
Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or compensatory experience working in the accounting field 3-5 years of accounting/auditing experience showing progression State government accounting experience is preferred, and will be very helpful
