Job Description
Senior Accountant Vita Asset Management LLC Noblesville, IN Job Details 2 hours ago Qualifications Business financial process improvement Accounting systems Financial close processing Financial data reconciliation CPA Heavy lifting LIHTC Financial performance report preparation 3 years Consolidated financial statement preparation GAAP Accounting firm experience Profit & Loss statement Sage Intacct Senior level AI Financial audit support Profit and loss analysis Communication skills Cross-functional communication Financial compliance Full Job Description About Mainstreet Mainstreet is a vertically integrated real estate development and investment company with a multi-entity portfolio spanning senior living (assisted living and memory care), LIHTC affordable housing, and BUILT (our flex industrial real estate venture). We build, own, and operate, and we're investing in our accounting team to support our next stage of growth. The Role We're hiring a Senior Accountant to own the heavy lifting of our financial reporting and monthly close across a multi-entity portfolio. This is a high-impact seat. You'll be the person the Controller and CFO rely on to get the numbers right, on time, every month. You'll work closely with the Controller, supporting the full close cycle, consolidations, audit prep, and lender/investor reporting. This role is ideal for someone who cut their teeth in public accounting, learned the discipline and technical rigor that environment demands, but is ready for something different. You'll have more ownership, more variety, a tighter team, and the ability to see the business you're supporting rather than bouncing between clients. What You'll Own Monthly close and financial reporting Lead significant portions of the monthly close across multiple entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and intercompany Prepare consolidated and entity-level financial statements with supporting schedules Maintain GL integrity in Sage Intacct and ensure accurate, audit-ready books Produce recurring financial reporting packages for internal leadership, lenders, LP investors, and operating partners Audit and compliance Serve as a key point person for external audits and cost certifications, preparing workpapers and responding to auditor requests Support LIHTC compliance reporting and investor draw packages Partner with third-party property managers to ensure accurate property-level financials roll up cleanly Process and analysis Identify and drive improvements in close workflows, reconciliations, and reporting processes Support ad hoc financial analysis for leadership: budget vs. actuals, cash flow tracing, entity-level P&L review Build and maintain reporting templates and schedules that scale as the company grows Working With AI Is Part of the Job Mainstreet is leaning hard into AI, it's how we work. This role is no exception. You'll use Claude and other AI tools daily as a real teammate: drafting and reviewing reconciliations, building reporting templates, accelerating audit prep, parsing lease and loan documents, summarizing large datasets, and writing the first draft of analyses you then refine. We're looking for someone who is genuinely excited about this. The accountants who thrive here will use AI to push more work through with higher quality, free themselves from the rote parts of the job, and spend more of their time on judgment, analysis, and partnering with the business. If you've already been experimenting with AI in your workflow, even better. If not, we'll teach you. Who You Are CPA strongly preferred (or actively pursuing) 3-6 years of progressive accounting experience, with meaningful time in public accounting (audit or assurance preferred) You've done the public accounting work, learned what "good" looks like, and are ready to go deep on one business rather than surface-level across many Strong technical accounting foundation, US GAAP, accruals, consolidations, reconciliations Comfortable in a mid-market ERP (Sage Intacct a plus; any serious GL system translates) Curious about and willing to lean into AI as a daily tool in your work Detail-oriented without losing sight of the big picture; you can tie out a reconciliation and also explain what the numbers mean Self-directed. You see what needs to happen and move it forward Strong communicator who can work across finance, operations, property managers, and external partners Why This Role Is a Good Fit Coming Out of Public Real ownership. You own the close and the reporting for a business you'll know cold, not one of many clients on a rotation. Variety without chaos.
Three distinct verticals:
senior living, LIHTC, industrial. This means different accounting flavors without jumping between unrelated clients every two weeks. A real team. You'll work alongside a Controller who's grown up in this business and a CFO/VP of Operations committed to developing the people on the team. Line of sight to growth. We're building an accounting function, not maintaining one. This seat grows as the company grows.Similar jobs in Noblesville, IN
