Job Description

We're a relationship-driven CPA firm serving closely held businesses, nonprofits, and families across Kansas. Our clients know us by name, and our team members see the impact of their work every day. With several partners planning retirement in the coming years, we're intentional about developing the next generation of firm leaders. The Opportunity If you're looking for accelerated growth, broad exposure, and a true voice at the table, this role is for you. What you'll do Lead compilations, reviews, and tax engagements for small to mid-sized clients across multiple industries Be the day-to-day client advisor: planning, scoping, budgeting, and presenting findings Review staff work; coach, mentor, and build processes Identify advisory opportunities (cash flow, entity structure, tax planning, systems) Reviewing tax projects Why join a smaller firm like ours Fast advancement: clear partner-track opportunity driven by pending retirements and firm growth Real responsibility: own client relationships and make decisions early, not years down the road Variety over silo: tax, accounting, and advisory work across industries—grow a full toolkit Work-life balance: predictable hours most of the year; flexible options; local commute, comp time Community impact: serve organizations you see at the grocery store, ball field, and town hall A say in how we work: help choose tools, shape policies, and influence culture Qualifications 4+ years of public accounting experience in audit/assurance and/or tax CPA licensed or actively pursuing (we support exam fees, study time, and CPE) Comfortable leading engagements and reviewing staff work Strong communicator who enjoys direct client interaction and problem solving Curious, resourceful, and motivated by ownership—not just tasks Compensation and benefits Competitive salary for our market $65,000-$90,000 depending on experience 401(k) with match, health/dental and flexible spending plan Generous PTO, comp time for peak season, and paid sick leave CPA exam support, CPE budget, and paid professional memberships Clear partner-track framework with milestones and mentoring
