Full Job Description Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Royalties Accountant at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for the accounting, reporting, and analysis of worldwide royalties.Responsibilities:
Essential Functions Gain familiarity with Garmin products and the impacts of third-party software, technology, and content licensing Work closely with Engineering Business Development team regarding all aspects of royalty reporting Review/interpret royalty agreements, contracts, and licensing terms to ensure proper accounting treatment Communicate with various departments/subsidiaries to validate product content for royalty payment Prepare accurate/timely royalty calculations and reports Administer communication with royalty providers worldwide and with internal stakeholders for royalty invoicing issues and associated approvals Prepare/record journal entries as part of the month-end close process Prepare/maintain reconciliations and recurring schedules Support internal/external audit inquires related to the royalty process Assist with ad-hoc projects, financial analysis, and process improvementsQualifications:
Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance AND a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience Demonstrates proficiency and knowledge of accounting principles Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Excel Team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, work well with others, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to work proactively/effectively with minimal supervision Superior organizational/analytical skills with keen attention to detail/quality with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Self-starter with strong problem-solving and negotiation skills Desired Qualifications Experience using Oracle Applications Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
