Job Description

The General Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the Company's general ledger. This position is responsible for providing financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership, leading balance sheet reviews, managing complex accounting areas, and supporting internal reporting requirements.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation of the monthly accounting reporting package, including financial statements, supporting schedules, and variance analysis. Review and approve detailed balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items. Maintain integrity of the general ledger, including oversight of account classifications, cleanup initiatives, and correction of errors. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. Present and lead monthly balance sheet review meetings with management. Provide financial analysis and ad hoc reporting to support management decision-making. Identify process gaps and implement improvements to strengthen internal controls. Maintain supporting documentation for audit purposes and serve as a key point of contact for audit requests and technical accounting matters. Oversee the timely completion of month-end close in accordance with corporate deadlines. Champion special projects, process improvements, and system enhancements as needed. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and/or participating in professional associations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:
Minimum five years of accounting experience, preferably within the oil and gas industry. Ability to accurately solve problems and exceptional proficiency in data management. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and other departments. Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities without close supervision. Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex financial information into an organized and presentable manner. Excellent administrative and organizational skills. Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
Required:
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Strong working knowledge of SAP and Power Bi report building.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college preferably in accounting.
