Nature of Work The Accounts Payable Accountant will support financial operations by accurately processing vendor invoices, maintaining vendor records, and ensuring timely payments in accordance with company guidelines. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Compile and sort documents substantiating business transactions, such as invoices, checks, and statements. Establish files and maintain accurate documents including proper filing and retention in accordance with company policy. Verify, investigate, and post details of business transactions, such as vendor purchases and disbursed funds, to the appropriate accounts in the ERP. Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues in a timely manner. Review invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records to ensure accurate and complete accounting records. Set up and maintain vendor records including W-9 collection and verification. Timely respond to questions related to accounts payable, procedures, and services from employees, vendors, customers, and business units. Prepare various daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and job-to-date report. Prepare journal entries relating to general ledger, cash disbursements, or job costing. Review, analyze, reconcile and, if needed, correct general ledger transactions. Routinely report/update supervisor with progress towards department initiatives. Qualifications Ability to complete work accurately and completely with high attention to detail and in a timely manner. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, and ability to learn financial software systems quickly. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively in a team environment. Maintain a positive attitude and be open-minded and receptive. Maintain a high level of professionalism in actions, appearance, and workspace. Maintain a high level of responsibility and accountability for tasks. Ability to be flexible and adaptable while working in a time-sensitive environment. Education A minimum of a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). A degree in accounting or finance is preferred but not required. Experience 1+ years or more of related work experience preferred. Physical Demands and Working Environment Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds. Normal office environment.
