Established in 1973, we have had continued success providing the opportunity to grow our footprint with divisions in Colorado, Texas, Nebraska, and Kansas. We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team in Towanda, Kansas. Salary:
$70,000-$80,000 a year
Position Responsibilities:
Maintains the general ledger and prepares journal entries as needed Monthly reconciliation of various general ledger accounts Monitors cash management with daily transaction reviews, weekly management reports, and monthly bank reconciliations Records and reconciles job cost entries Maintains fixed asset system and prepares monthly journal entries Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual preparation of sales and use tax returns to all jurisdictions. Responsible for prequalification process for all jurisdictions Assist with fuel tax preparation for all jurisdictions Maintain contractor licenses and compliance for all registered jurisdictions. Additional duties as directed by supervisor Essential skills and experience : Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA certification optional Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role Outstanding time management and organizational skills Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing Strong analytical and follow-up skills with attention to detail Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide cross-section of individuals Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment under pressure of strict deadlines

Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours when required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
