Hiring Agency Finance & Administration Cabinet | Office of the Controller Location 200 Mero Street Frankfort, KY 40601 USA Description The Office of Statewide Accounting Services (SAS) is seeking a motivated energetic candidate to fill an exciting position in a fast paced environment. If you love to plan and organize business and programmatic function and enjoy collaborating with various staff this is the opportunity for you. SAS wishes to obtain a Graduate Accountant I to assist with data modernization and financial transaction transformation. The Graduate Accountant I will be a skilled team member that assists in our mission critical processes related to accounting, informational systems, and agency assistance. Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to: Provide assistance and guidance to State agencies with all accounting related inquiries, including the review and approval of complex eMARS transactions. Provide assistance for all Fiscal Year Closeout activity of assigned agencies. Perform central check writing processes. Includes processing CWAs and CWIs, and processing EFT and check payments through to Treasury. Reconcile Payroll Retirement Distribution by verifying allocated payroll wage types, processing journal vouchers, and distributing reports. Participate in eMARS system updates and enhancements to ensure state financial data is processed and reconciled accurately.

EDUCATION
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree (which includes twenty semester hours or thirty quarter hours in accounting).

Professional experience in Kentucky State Government accounting will substitute for the education on a year- for-year basis.
