Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will lead complex accounting functions, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and support strategic decision-making through accurate financial analysis. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data and streamline accounting processes across various departments. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal policies. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and ledger maintenance. Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and accuracy using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft. Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for process improvements. Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist with internal audits related to financial reporting. Support payroll management activities utilizing systems like ADP, Workday, or UltiPro while ensuring accuracy in benefits administration and tax filings. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including HRIS systems and governmental agencies to facilitate accurate reporting and documentation. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred but not required. 3+ years proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a focus on technical accounting standards. Strong knowledge of
GAAP, SOX
compliance, and governmental accounting practices. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms; experience with HRIS systems like Workday or UltiPro is a plus. Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, journal entries, general ledger accounting, and double-entry bookkeeping accurately. Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail; capable of handling complex data entry tasks including 10 key typing. Familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or Kronos and benefits administration processes. Strong understanding of accounts payable/receivable processes and non-profit or corporate tax experience is advantageous.
