Job Description

Our accounting team is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our corporate office in Mandeville. In the Senior Accountant role, critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills will be needed to apply accounting theory and knowledge. This is a great opportunity to learn and grow within the company. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform the day to day processing of accounts payable transactions to ensure that municipal finances are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner. Post business transactions, process invoices, and verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records Maintain meticulous records of outstanding payables Ensure the accuracy of the organization's financial documents for payment and auditing purposes Verify invoices against purchase orders and ensure goods or services were received before issuing payment to vendor Prepare monthly account analysis and reconciliations in a timely manner to ensure high quality financial statements. Perform month end close responsibilities including the timely and accurately preparation and posting of monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP. Provide administrative support in order to ensure effective and efficient office operations Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial and employee files Maintain an electronic filing system for all financial documents Perform other related duties as required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bachelor's degree in accounting is required Public accounting experience would be preferred 2 plus years financial accounting experience Proficiency with all Microsoft Office software and Google Suites Ability to participate as a team member and perform job duties independently Practice efficient time management Demonstrate problem-solving and critical thinking skills
