Job Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing and participating in full-cycle A/P, A/R, posting/reviewing GL, monthly credit card statements, and general accounting duties. They will assist with cash management, grant reporting, and produce financial statements as needed.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage all general ledger and subsidiary journals, including cash and credit card receipts, cash disbursements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue releases, payroll accounts, cash flow forecasting, grants administration and reporting Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable on a monthly basis Process cash disbursements on a weekly basis Manage the purchase order process for the organization Process general ledger transactions and post entries Reconcile all credit card purchases to monthly statements Perform all cash account reconciliations for all relevant bank accounts Manage all annual reporting requirements Assist in grant reporting and other projects as needed Assist in the annual financial and any other audits as needed Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) Input payroll information for payroll vendor on a bi-weekly basis as needed Make cash deposits as needed Manage all vendor relationships and resolution of billing issues Manage the purchase order process for the organization Perform twice weekly back-ups for the QuickBooks system Process 1099 forms and other forms relevant to the organization Review and report submissions to all funding partners as required Work closely with the CFO on budgets, projections and other grant related procedures
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector. Familiarity with fund accounting and grants management is a bonus Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and advance Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with Salesforce and Procore software is a plus Strong understanding of GAAP principles and knowledge of nonprofit compliance standards Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively in a cross-functional environment
Pay:
$52,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
