Job Description
Position Summary We are seeking an Oil & Gas JIB Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Joint Interest Billing (JIB) accounting functions, including billing preparation, revenue and expense allocations, owner relations, and account reconciliations. Key Responsibilities Prepare and process monthly Joint Interest Billings (JIBs) for operated properties. Review and allocate lease operating expenses (LOE), capital expenditures, and other joint account costs. Maintain accurate ownership and division of interest records. Reconcile JIB accounts and investigate discrepancies. Respond to partner inquiries and resolve billing disputes. Monitor accounts receivable and coordinate collection efforts with working interest owners. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities. Work closely with land, operations, engineering, and management teams to ensure accurate cost allocation. Ensure compliance with COPAS guidelines and company accounting policies. Qualifications Required 2+ years of oil and gas accounting experience. 1+ years of JIB accounting experience. Strong understanding of COPAS standards and joint operating agreements. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Preferred Experience with WolfePak accounting system Knowledge of upstream oil and gas operations.
