Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Long-term Contract position based in Kentucky. This role is ideal for someone who can manage day-to-day financial activities with accuracy while contributing to timely reporting and tax-related compliance. The successful candidate will bring strong general ledger experience, sound judgment, and a hands-on approach to maintaining organized and reliable accounting records.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to keep financial records accurate and current.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure clean month-end reporting.
• Assist with corporate tax activities, including gathering documentation and supporting return preparation.
• Manage sales tax processes by reviewing transactions, maintaining records, and helping ensure filings are completed on time.
• Support the monthly close cycle through account analysis, reporting preparation, and variance review.
• Maintain accounting documentation and schedules that strengthen audit readiness and internal recordkeeping.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and provide timely financial information.
• Review financial data for completeness and accuracy while identifying opportunities to improve routine accounting workflows.
