6 months Position Overview Our client in the biotech industry is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a 6-month contract engagement. This role will support core accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance activities in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong general ledger expertise, attention to detail, and experience working in life sciences, biotech, or other regulated industries. Key Responsibilities Manage month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions Support audit readiness and coordinate with external auditors as needed Analyze financial data and provide reporting to support management decision-making Help improve accounting processes and documentation to increase efficiency and accuracy Partner cross-functionally with FP& A, operations, procurement, and other internal teams Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies Support ad hoc projects related to system implementations, process improvements, or reporting needs Requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience as a Senior Accountant Biotech, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industry experience preferred Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes Experience with account reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills CPA or CPA-track preferred Preferred Skills Experience in a contract or project-based accounting role Familiarity with inventory, R& D accruals, grant accounting, or revenue recognition in a biotech environment Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting Why Join This Opportunity Gain experience with an innovative biotech organization Contribute to meaningful projects in a growing industry Flexible contract opportunity with immediate impact Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
