Full Job Description Description:
Sullivan Tire, an employee-owned company, is currently seeking an Accounting Associate to join our team in Norwell, MA. The Accounting Associate is responsible for a multitude of accounting activities and clerical support. Adheres to internal controls, policies and procedures.
Major Responsibilities:
Timely reconciliation of point-of-sale transactions to include cash, credit cards, checks, customer refunds, prepayments, sales, returns, and other adjusting transactions Reconcile bank statements and post financial transactions Maintain bookkeeping records for municipal tax payments, including personal property and real estate taxes Support inventory auditing processes, including data verification and reporting Prepare and post journal entries and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts Assist with expense monitoring and researching variances to budget Update information in the corporate tracking software, general ledger, and excel spreadsheets Maintain organized financial records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes Provide general support to the accounting team as needed
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in accounting or related field preferred 0-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or clerical experience
Skills/Knowledge:
Solid understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes Strong knowledge of
Microsoft Office:
Excel, Word and Outlook Strong written and verbal communication skills Solid problem-solving and analytical skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team
