Sr. Accountant

Robert Half Sr. Accountant Waltham, MA Apply Description We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join a team on a long-term contract basis. This role is well suited for an accounting specialist who brings strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The position will support core accounting operations, maintain financial accuracy, and partner with stakeholders to communicate financial information clearly and effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Lead key activities related to the monthly close process, ensuring financial results are recorded accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining proper supporting documentation and adherence to accounting standards.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash-related transactions to support accurate financial reporting.
• Review accounting records and internal processes to help maintain strong controls and reliable financial data.
• Partner with cross-functional teams and management to address requests, explain financial results, and support business decisions.
• Prioritize multiple deliverables simultaneously while producing precise work within tight reporting deadlines.
• Contribute to accounting projects and process-related initiatives as needed, including activities tied to operational or system-related changes when applicable.

Requirements Bachelor's/Master's in Accounting or Finance 3-5+ years of accounting experience (corporate, public, or both) Accounting certification preferred Strong U.S. GAAP and month-end close knowledge Experience with journal entries and reconciliations Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Effective communication, including with non-finance stakeholders Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
