In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the organization's financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the overall financial health of our non-profit operations. Your expertise in accounting principles and software will drive accurate financial reporting, facilitate audits, and support strategic decision-making. Duties Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and nonprofit accounting standards Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and subsidiary ledgers Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to maintain accurate financial data Assist with regulatory reporting requirements including IRS filings, grants reporting, and compliance documentation Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities to inform organizational planning Maintain detailed records of journal entries, accruals, and financial transactions following internal controls such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance Collaborate with auditors during annual audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial reports Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred Proven experience in nonprofit accounting with familiarity in GAAP and regulatory compliance standards Strong knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft or similar platforms Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial report writing, data analysis and forecasting tasks Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation, bank reconciliation and journal entry preparation accurately Excellent understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles including debits & credits Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial reports and concepts such as cash flow analysis and budget variance analysis Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and mentoring colleagues in accounting best practices #RJAF123
