Job Description

Duties:
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Process journal entries and maintain accurate records of financial transactions
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial analysis and support
  • Investigate any daily bank deposit discrepancies as necessary.
  • Collect bills and record in Quickbooks, ensuring proper due date and accuracy of information.
  • Reconcile bank accounts in Quickbooks regularly to ensure adequate cash flow to support financial obligations.
  • Complete monthly sales tax filing online by completing necessary form, recording electronic payment of sales tax owed and printing copy of form for records.
  • Prepare biweekly payroll.
  • Perform annual workers' compensation audit.
  • File annual reports.
  • Reconcile bank statements monthly.
  • Prepare IPEDS and other financial reporting for Program Coordinator as requested, including reporting of FSA expenditures to the Department of Education in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate activities with financial aid office in projecting cash needed to cover disbursements.
  • Maintain records to ensure a clear audit trail.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA certification is preferred
  • Proven experience in corporate accounting or related role
  • Proficient in using accounting software such as Xero or similar platforms
  • Strong knowledge of balance sheet reconciliation, accrual accounting, and regulatory reporting
  • Familiarity with securities law and financial services industry regulations is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
