Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, forecasting and budgeting, and customer billing. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset. Responsibilities Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, allocations, and general ledger activity. Based on general knowledge. Maintain ownership of the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded accurately, completely, and in accordance with company policy and
U.S. GAAP.
Based on general knowledge. Prepare and review balance sheet and bank reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner. Based on general knowledge. Perform detailed account analysis for key income statement and balance sheet accounts to support accurate financial reporting. Based on general knowledge. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including reviewing coding, monitoring aging, assisting with cash applications, and ensuring proper period-end cutoff. Based on general knowledge. Partner with operations and department leaders to gather supporting documentation, research discrepancies, and improve transaction flow across accounting processes. Based on general knowledge. Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules. Based on general knowledge. Generate internal financial reports, analyze fluctuations versus budget or prior period, and provide commentary to management on key drivers. Based on general knowledge. Support external and internal audit requests by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries. Based on general knowledge. Assist with annual audit, tax, and compliance filings by ensuring requested financial data is accurate and submitted on schedule. Based on general knowledge. Help maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and month-end close procedures to improve efficiency and reduce risk. Based on general knowledge. Identify process improvement opportunities within the close, reconciliation, AP, AR, and reporting functions, including automation and system enhancements. Based on general knowledge. Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on reconciliations, journal entries, and day-to-day general ledger best practices. Based on general knowledge. Participate in special projects such as system implementations, clean-up initiatives, and ad hoc financial analysis as needed. Based on general knowledge. Qualifications 4+ years' of professional accounting experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience Experience with the monthly close, budgeting, and forecasting Any cost accounting experience a bonus Experience in QuickBooks and a large ERP (SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics, Oracle etc) desired
