Accounting Associate- Lafrance Hospitality Lafrance Hospitality - 3.2 Westport, MA Job Details Full-time $23 - $26 a year 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Spreadsheets Bachelor's degree Data analysis software Full Job Description Lafrance Hospitality is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our accounting team at the Corporate Office. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities while working closely with experienced finance professionals. Requirements Essential Responsibilities Prepare and record journal entries accurately and timely. Assist with monthly, and annual financial close processes. Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger account reconciliations. Maintain fixed asset, prepaid expense, and accrued expense schedules. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed. Analyze account balances and investigate discrepancies. Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements and audits. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes. Support external auditors, tax preparers, and regulatory reporting requirements. Maintain organized accounting records and documentation. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and internal controls. Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related business field. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting concepts. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and data analysis. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred:
Internship, co-op, or up to two years of accounting experience. Experience with accounting software or ERP systems. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). $23-26/hour to start.
