$65,000 - $80,000 annually (Salary will be determined based on experience)Job SummaryR.W. Warner, Inc. is searching for a Project Accountant to join our Finance Team! The Project Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of construction projects from setup through closeout. This role ensures accurate project cost tracking, billing, forecasting, and accounting entries while supporting project managers with timely and reliable project specific information. This will be a key role in maintaining cost controls, ensuring contract compliance, and supporting overall project profitability.

Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesSetup and maintain project budgets, cost codes, and job cost structuresMonitor project costs including labor, materials, subcontractor expenses, and overhead allocationsTrack committed costs and forecast final project costsAnalyze cost variances and provide feedback to Project ManagersEnsure billing complies with contract terms and schedule of valuesCoordinate with Project Managers to resolve billing discrepanciesPrepare monthly project cost reports and job profitability analysesProvide financial updates to Project Managers and leadershipSupport month-end and year-end close related to project accountingEnsure compliance with contract requirements, internal controls, and any applicable company policiesQualificationsBachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or project-based environmentsExperience with job costing and construction billing requiredStrong understanding of construction accounting principlesProficiency in accounting software (Sage, Procore, or similar)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlinesAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to work collaboratively with othersExcellent written and verbal communication skillsBenefits Health, dental, and vision insurance Short- and Long-Term Disability Insurance Whole Life Insurance with Long Term Care Paid time off and paid holidays 401(k) R.W.
