Job Description

Senior Accountant (Contractor)
Location:
Hanover, MD Employment Type:
Contract We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support our finance team in a dynamic, project-driven environment. This role is responsible for cash application, account reconciliations, month-end close support, and maintaining accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Post and reconcile daily cash receipts Research and resolve unapplied or misapplied cash transactions Prepare journal entries and support month-end close activities Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain supporting documentation Assist with annual audits and financial reporting requirements Collaborate with accounting, billing, and project teams Identify process improvements and support internal control compliance
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or general accounting Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and
XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
Experience with ERP/accounting systems Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Construction, engineering, or project-based accounting experience preferred We offer an opportunity to work with an experienced finance team while contributing to a fast-paced, project-focused organization. #INDAF2
