Academy Financial, Inc. Staff Accountant•Financial Services Seeking experienced financial professional with well-rounded experience in accounting, taxes, banking, bill pay, and payroll. Prefer experience in financial services or wealth management industry and knowledge of commission payouts, expense allocations, and broker-dealer operations. Part-time position estimated at approximately 30 hours per week, though hours may vary based on workload and business need. Who We Are Looking For Someone that values integrity and hard work and will always put a client's needs first, last, and always Self-motivation and self-discipline are essential elements of success Accuracy and attention to detail are imperative elements associated with this role Industry experience or related experience and desire to learn Client first focus and dedication Strong interpersonal and communication skills, being pleasantly persistent to follow up and follow through Maintain a professional and service first attitude through busy and stressful periods Results-driven and focused individual who takes ownership of responsibilities and outcomes Planning and organizational skills to include effective prioritization and resource management while balancing a multitude of projects, from multiple financial planners, with varying deadlines Main Responsibilities Monitor and manage commission revenue flow between Academy and LPL Manage day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow, general ledger, and financial reporting Coordinate internal accounting functions with external partners like CPA, bank, payroll, etc. Owner of company's financial books & records and statements through QuickBooks online Primary point of contact for banking relationships and investment account management Review, monitor, and allocation of company expenses to correct department, individual, or cost center Manage all external expenses ensuring they are paid on time, allocated properly, and all charges are reasonable and expected Manage payroll process including generating and delivering required reports to payroll company; reviewing payroll to ensure correct pay to employees; troubleshooting issues with payroll, taxes, and government agencies; allocating payroll expenses correctly; and overseeing PTO and reported time for employees Produce reports at month-end and year-end to show profitability, expenses, track revenue, cash flow, and other reports as requested by management Required Skills & Experiences Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred 5+ years' experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, expenses, etc. Wealth Management / Financial Services experience preferred Strong organizational and collaborative skills Attention to detail Mastery of QuickBooks online required Proficient with Microsoft Office suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams High level proficiency with Excel Strong ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally internally and externally Desire to learn, grow, and contribute to the success of our clients, practices, and the firm In office position at Lutherville, MD or King of Prussia, PA location Compensation $25•30 per hour, depending on experience Minimum 30 hours per week.
