Superior Skilled TradesPosition Overview Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Controller for a well-established construction contractor specializing in commercial building envelope solutions. This leadership role oversees all financial operations, job costing, payroll, compliance, and reporting while supporting executive leadership and project teams. The ideal candidate brings strong construction accounting experience, deep knowledge of WIP reporting and job costing, and the ability to manage financial performance across multiple entities. Key Responsibilities Oversee full accounting operations using QuickBooks Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll processing Prepare and review AIA billing , pay applications, lien releases, and requisitions Maintain and monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules Produce monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, AR Summary) Manage job costing and project profitability reporting Handle certified payroll reporting and compliance Oversee wrap-up insurance programs, bonds, and subcontractor documentation (W-9s, COIs) Manage GL, Umbrella, Auto, and Workers' Comp insurance audits Coordinate with CPA on tax filings and financial reporting Assist estimating with insurance deductions and bid-related financial documentation Support financial oversight for affiliated real estate/property entities Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of construction accounting experience Strong knowledge of: Job costing WIP reporting AIA billing Certified payroll Construction compliance documentation Experience with QuickBooks (required) Familiarity with platforms such as Textura, TradeTapp, LCP Tracker, e-Mars, and wrap-up insurance systems preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work closely with project managers and executive leadership What We're Looking For Detail-oriented and disciplined financial leader Strong understanding of construction financial workflows Ability to manage multiple entities and reporting structures Proactive communicator who can support both field and office teams INDHSimilar remote jobs
