Part-Time Controller A Wider Circle - 4.1 Silver Spring, MD Job Details Part-time $50 an hour 18 hours ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree Full Job Description 9141 Brookville Road, Silver Spring, MD, USA 50.00 per hour Hourly Part Time Job Summary A Wider Circle is seeking a dedicated and hands-on Part-Time Controller to join our team. This position requires approximately 15-20 hours per week and offers a largely remote schedule with periodic on site responsibilities. The Controller will work most closely with the President and CEO and the current in house accounting staff. The ideal candidate brings broad hands-on experience and is prepared to provide backup support across key finance functions including accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable.
Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities would include: Reviewing and approving invoices and corresponding payments via bill.com system Reviewing and approving positive pay from bank daily Verifying accounting coding in month end closing Running monthly financial reports for CEO and Board Undertaking cash flow projections and financial modeling Tracking financial KPIs Completing revenue and expense against budget Recommending and implementing improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies and procedures, supporting client strategy and best practices Supporting preparation for annual audit Supporting cash flow management Supporting tax reporting with various jurisdictions Reviewing payroll registers and submitting for final processing
Qualifications :
Passionate about working in or supporting non-profit organizations Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance 5-7 plus years accounting experience Experience working in a remote environment preferred Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, work independently, and be responsive on a timely basis Demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets skills Experience with multiple GL packages, especially QuickBooks, and electronic bill pay Non-profit accounting, public accounting experience, and/or consulting experience is a plus CPA certification is a plus This team member is expected to work during normal business hours to best serve our team Work authorization/security clearance requirements: Must be authorized to work in the United States Work environment: This person will be largely remote, with on site hours no more than once per week or bi-weekly.
Physical demands:
Must be able to move around said environment for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs occasionally, and work in variable temperature conditions.
