Job Description

at Kents Hill School in Kents Hill, Maine, United States Job Description Position Overview This position reports to the Controller and assists in the day to day operations of the Business Office. This role primarily manages accounts payable, accounts receivable and the school store. The position requires strong organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to work in a group as well as independently. Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines is essential. Knowledge of financial information technology applications is an important component of this position coupled with the ability to manage software and web-based applications/platforms. Key Responsibilities Accounts Receivable/Cash Receipts Maintain and support student billing database and files Update accounts receivable for bookstore and other charges Collect and post student payments Track overdue accounts and assist with collection Supporting families with billing and payments Accounts Payable/Cash Disbursements Maintain accounts payable database and vendor files, 1099s, W9 Post and schedule vendor invoices for payment File vendor invoices Student Bank Open and maintain student bank accounts Operate student bank Post student charges and deposits track overdrawn accounts Student Store Order, sell, and maintain student store inventory Order and sell textbooks Organize Book Buy Back (textbooks) Other Responsibilities and Duties Light office duties including mail, supplies, filing and other Other duties as assigned by the Controller or CFO Qualifications and Experience Associate's degree in Accounting or relevant work experience Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience preferred Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice Outstanding communications, organizational, collaboration, and interpersonal skills How to Apply Please send a letter of interest, resume, and contact information for three references to Human Resources, hr@kentshill.org , with the subject line "Accounting Associate."
