Job Description

Straley Lamp & Kraenzlein P.C. is continuing to experience growth and is excited about the opportunities for significant growth in the years to come. We are looking for a staff auditor/accountant with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting to join us. You would be joining our team as an audit/accounting staff member to be primarily assigned to audit engagements. We will consider candidates both with and without experience. You may be introduced to other aspects of public accounting such as tax preparation and various other accounting functions. A successful candidate will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and demonstrate the ability to learn new concepts. Straley Lamp & Kraenzlein P.C. is a leading accounting firm within Northeast Michigan and has been providing audit, attest, tax, and accounting services to our clients since the 1930's. We service a wide variety of industries and entities including governmental entities, non-profit, privately-held businesses, and individuals. We offer an excellent work environment within a professionally challenging industry. Job Responsibilities Assist with all segments of audit and accounting engagements Prepare financial statements and other communication letters to management in accordance with professional and Firm standards Adapt to a variety of client engagements and assignments Research auditing/accounting issues as needed Develop proficiency in current accounting, audit, and technology software Travel occasionally within Northern Michigan Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required Understanding of accounting and auditing principles Proficiency in current technology, including Microsoft Office programs Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills Dedication to teamwork and integrity within a professional environment Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines CPA license or intent to obtain a CPA license Salary is commensurate with qualifications.
