Position Overview:
The Accountant is responsible for supporting both general and sales accounting functions within a centralized accounting environment that includes multiple locations. This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with internal controls and company policies, and provides operational and financial analyses to support business decision-making. The position also contributes to process improvement initiatives and supports external audits. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
General Accounting Prepare month-end closing journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation. Prepare monthly account reconciliations and supporting schedules for numerous accounts. Process payroll. Provide financial and operational month-end and ad-hoc analyses and reporting. Provide various other daily and month-end close responsibilities. Sales Accounting Prepare monthly commission reports. Manage royalty accounting, including account reconciliations. Other Responsibilities Assist in the development of forecasts and budgets. Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement. Support external audit inquiries and requests. Support other business initiatives as needed. Qualifications:
Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting (required). Minimum 3 years of professional accounting experience in a centralized accounting function. 2+ years' experience with NetSuite (Inventory module a plus). Skills & Competencies High attention to detail, organized, and accurate. Self-starter with ability to work independently. Strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of clearly articulating thoughts and ideas. Effective team player who collaborates well with others. Solid problem-solving, analytical, and independent thinking skills. Ability to make sound and timely decisions. Experience working with external auditors. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced business environment. Strong Microsoft Excel and Windows proficiency. Professional demeanor with strong overall business acumen.
