Police/Health and Safety Support Staff Opening on: Jun 3 2026 Closing at: Jun 16 2026 - 23:55 EDT 11 Salary Commensurate with Experience Department Of Police And Public Safety 1136482 Position Summary The new Accountant I position will handle budgetary and accounting needs for MSU Police and Public Safety. The position will oversee department accountants, day-to-day processing for financial transactions, as well as maintaining budgetary tracking of salaries and operating expenses for current fiscal and forecasting of future fiscal needs as assigned. Overseeing payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and proper processing, along with tracking and forecasting for budgetary needs. Manage all departmental purchases and vendor invoicing, along with tracking and forecasting of budgetary needs of the department. Invoicing and processing internal documents for the parking codes services. Monitoring accounts for issues and problems to make corrections as needed throughout the fiscal year, to keep in line with needed budgetary benchmarks. Minimum Requirements Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Accounting; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in financial statement and report preparation, general ledger accounting and budgeting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
