Job Description

Overview Come join our dynamic team and become a vital contributor to our organization's financial health and integrity. In this role, you will be responsible for providing overall financial support to the facility business operations while assuring records of the facility are maintained, accurate and timely. This position plays a critical role in managing company assets, maintaining compliance, and ensuring smooth financial operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Insurance & Billing Maintains current and accurate patient census data daily. Performs billing activity; coordinates with third party biller if applicable. Maintains documents related to payment activity. Performs all aspects of collection activity. Assists with verification of benefits, as needed. Addresses and resolves billing inquiries and disputes in a timely professional manner. Recordkeeping Performs accurate cash posting activity. Completes bank and account reconciliations. Conducts monthly general ledger journal entries. Prepares biweekly payroll entries and monthly accrual entries. Conducts monthly close process, including review of balance sheet and variance analysis. Serves as payroll support. Accounting Manages and oversees all business office functions including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and budgeting. Maintains accrual basis financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Ensures fixed assets are accounted for in accordance with GAAP. Issues timely, accurate and complete financial statements. Reviews the financial statements and trial balance for accuracy and reasonableness. Analyzes financial reports, forecasts, and budgets to support strategic decision-making. Participates in the budget development process. Compliance Prepares information for Form 990 and assists with data collection for external CPA firm Assists with the preparation of Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports. Prepares records and supporting documentation required for audits Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations related to financial and administrative operations. Maintains strict confidentiality at all times. Other Performs and supervises clerical tasks. Performs other duties and tasks as assigned. Minimum Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and three (3) years' experience or any combination of experience, education, or training which would provide the knowledge required by this position. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Must have working knowledge of bookkeeping or accounting principles, preferably in a healthcare setting to include Medicare, Medicaid and third-party billing Experience in skilled nursing/ long term care facility is a PLUS! Additional Skills & Abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external contacts Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic environment Strong attention to detail and time management skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and web-based systems
