We are a professional towing & recovery business and a modern salvage yard. We have been in business for over 40 years and provide towing and recovery services to the entire Genesee County along with the surrounding areas. Our parts department uses our computerized inventory system to sell used auto parts across the state and to several other states. We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Accountant/Full-Charge Bookkeeper to be a valuable member of our team. In this vital role, you will manage day-to-day financial transactions, ensure accurate record-keeping, and support the overall financial health of our organization. Your expertise in accounting software, payroll management, and financial concepts will help maintain compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental regulations. Being experienced and knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Access is a must. Along with excellent data entry skills and computer knowledge are required.
Responsibilities:
Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounting and reconciliations to ensure proper financial reporting. Manage payroll processes with the program Cougar Mountain while ensuring timely and accurate payroll management. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations. Familiarity with PTO policy is essential; applicants must demonstrate understanding of PTO accrual, carryover, and request processes. Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly. Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Pay:
$18.00 - $26.00 per hour
