Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations for a construction-focused organization in Portage, Michigan. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate records, processing core accounting transactions, and helping ensure timely reporting across the business. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, solid accounting fundamentals, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records and support period-end close activities.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure the integrity of accounting data.
• Process accounts payable transactions, verify supporting documentation, and coordinate timely vendor payments.
• Manage accounts receivable activity by recording incoming payments, tracking outstanding balances, and following up as needed.
• Enter and maintain financial data in accounting systems with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
• Assist with month-end reporting by organizing supporting schedules and validating account balances.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing, payment, and account-related questions efficiently.
