Accountant Summary:
Provide support and coordinate accounting functions by following company policies and procedures.
Accountant Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the accounting team with daily bookkeeping and clerical tasks. Assist in month-end closing by compiling journal entry support and performing ledger reconciliations. Manage company credit card and employee expense entries and reporting. Prepare data needed for monthly sales and use tax filings. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions when needed. Facilitate cash reconciliation between treasury and accounts receivable functions. Verify and reconcile freight with invoices, purchase orders, and internal records to ensure accuracy. Collaborate with senior accountant with various tasks as needed. Utilize strong analytical skills, accuracy, and great attention to detail with financial data and reporting. Meet deadlines and monthly closing requirements. Gain the progressive hands-on experience and specialized skills necessary to transition into higher-level accounting positions. Adapt from working independently and self-sufficiently to working collaboratively with a team. Provide ideas, innovations, and suggestions for continuous improvement and opportunities.
Accountant Basic Qualifications:
Advanced computer skills, computer systems, and math skills. Professional demeanor with good communication skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Computer proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and an aptitude to navigate and acquire skills to use internal systems.
Accountant Education, Experience, and Certifications:
Associate's degree in accounting/business or equivalent experience in Accounting/Finance.
Accountant Work Environment:
In-office work environment.
