Job DescriptionJob Description A well-established CPA firm in Lathrup Village/Southfield, Michigan is seeking an experienced, career-minded CPA to join our leadership team. For more than 40 years, we have provided comprehensive tax, accounting, and consulting services to individuals, businesses, trusts, and nonprofit organizations. This is not a traditional senior accountant position. We are looking for a highly capable professional who can serve as a key leader within the firm-someone who enjoys technical tax work, values strong client relationships, and is excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of a solid but growing practice. Position Overview As a Senior Tax Manager/CPA, you will oversee tax compliance, review and quality control, client advisory services, and operational management. You will work closely with firm leadership to ensure exceptional client service, efficient workflow management, and continued firm growth. This role offers significant autonomy, leadership responsibility, and the potential for near-term future ownership participation for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities
  • Review and oversee preparation of individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and nonprofit tax returns
  • Provide tax planning and consulting services to clients
  • Ensure quality control and technical accuracy of all work before delivery to clients
  • Manage workflow, deadlines, and team productivity
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for client relationships
  • Resolve complex tax and accounting issues independently
  • Mentor and support professional staff
  • Assist with operational improvements, technology adoption, and process automation initiatives
  • Participate in strategic planning and firm growth initiatives
  • Stay current with tax law changes and industry developments Qualifications
  • Active CPA license required
  • 7-10+ years of public accounting experience
  • Strong experience reviewing tax returns and managing client engagements
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Interest in technology, automation, and process improvement
  • Prior firm ownership, management, or leadership experience is a plus What We Offer
