Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Cost Analyst The Cost Analyst position supports project teams by analyzing cost and revenue data in order to provide timely & reliable financial information that is meaningful to project management, business units and the organization as a whole. The Cost Analyst must be a flexible and adaptable team player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides analytics of the financial status of construction projects to measure profitability, manage risk, and facilitate project planning strategy and decision making Assists with project start-up by identifying financial deliverables and developing baseline budget Actively participates in the change management and monthly forecasting processes Aids with external customer requirements such as owner reporting, subcontractor challenges, and joint venture reporting Supports business unit and corporate objectives and provides over-site for compliance of Barton Malow policies and procedures Has an understanding and awareness of accounts payable and receivable Identifies risk and opportunity by in-depth review and understanding of monthly forecast Balances the project financials with accurate accruals and cash management Provides oversight for compliance of BMC best practices, policies and procedures (internal audit) Collaborates with project personnel to prepare all required internal project reports Coordinates with owner to develop required reports based on project data Completes adhoc reporting as necessary
JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Essential Requirements): 5-10 years relevant experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Strong skills in MS Office skills, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer
  • Strong skills in Bluebeam, Clearstory, Box, Textura, SAP Advanced math/accounting skills Ability to effectively communicate with all members of the team including contractors, architects and owners
  • Effective time management, organization skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize activities and work under pressure. Results-oriented and ability to take initiative Capacity to analyze large and disparate amounts of data and efficiently come to a conclusion Relevant understanding of construction management principles and processes Understanding and awareness of A/P and A/R Ability to work on-site and/or office
