Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, support strategic decision-making, and uphold regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Perform account reconciliations for general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness through detailed analysis and verification. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collection efforts. Conduct payroll management using systems such as ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, or Kronos to ensure timely and accurate employee payments. Maintain and update financial software systems like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, Workday, or similar platforms for seamless data entry and reporting. Support internal controls compliance by assisting with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) procedures and audits. Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and journal entries to support operational needs and strategic planning. Skills Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and governmental accounting standards. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or equivalent systems. Experience with payroll management tools like ADP or Paychex along with timekeeping systems such as Kronos or UltiPro. Knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and account analysis. Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation and account reconciliation accurately and efficiently. Familiarity with tax regulations and experience handling tax-related accounting tasks. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing), along with strong math skills for financial calculations. Experience in non-profit accounting or public accounting is a plus but not required. Demonstrated ability to interpret financial data for reporting purposes while maintaining strict confidentiality.
