Position Description:
Geronimo Power is seeking an Accounting Principal to oversee, perform and improve all accounting functions related to the development and operations of our renewable energy projects. This individual will work to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and quality of overall accounting function across multiple entities through assisting with the coordination, preparation and consolidation of financial and management reports under both US GAAP and IFRS. This individual will report directly to the Controller and will be a key player in driving process improvement and ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting requirements and requests from investors and other stakeholders. Duties Coordinate and assist with the implementation of a Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) control environment Assist with various month-end close processes Collaborate with the Director of Technical Accounting on several technical areas including consolidation, researching technical matters, and various internal and external reporting requirements Complete general ledger ownership for multiple entities, including month-end close, GL integrity, trial balance reconciliation, and management of intercompany transactions Produce and present timely financial reports Prepare and present monthly reporting packages and provide analysis to aid in management decisions Collaborate with several departments including construction, operations, real estate, and finance Provide support for various external audits Experience A minimum of five years of direct experience in accounting/finance with a focus on financial controls Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred SOX knowledge/experience required CPA preferred but not required IFRS knowledge/experience preferred but not required Strong general ledger accounting skills Experience in renewable energy operations preferred Proficient in Microsoft Suite NetSuite experience preferred Attention to detail Ability to multi-task Excellent communication skills
