We focus on a variety of signal and transport solutions supporting wireless and wire-line high-quality video, telemetry, data, and other integrated services. Superior Access Solutions is seeking a highly capable Senior Accountant to lead and manage the company's full-cycle accounting function in a small, collaborative environment. This role serves as the primary accounting resource and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial operations. While the title is Senior Accountant, this position operates with a high level of ownership and autonomy, supporting leadership through financial reporting, analysis, and insight that directly impact business decisions. Applicants must be US citizens and be able to pass a background check. Since SAS conducts a significant amount of business with the Federal government, this position may require you to become "cleared." If government clearance is required to perform your job, SAS will assist and train you in obtaining the clearance. It is important to note that any employee's inability to obtain and maintain the required government clearance may be grounds for termination of employment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Own the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. 2. Maintain and oversee the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and overall accuracy of financial data. 3. Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion. 4. Serve as the primary point of contact for external CPA firms, coordinating year-end tax preparation, supporting schedules, and responding to inquiries. 5. Develop, manage, and refine company budgets and forecasts in partnership with leadership. 6. Provide financial analysis and actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making. 7. Oversee and execute Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), invoicing, and payroll processes. 8. Monitor daily cash activity and maintain visibility into company liquidity. 9. Prepare and deliver regular cash flow reporting, including weekly cash position and forward-looking cash needs analysis. 10. Support sales and operational teams with forecasting, financial modeling, and performance tracking. 11. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions, including proper coding and documentation within QuickBooks Desktop. 12. Maintain fixed asset schedules and manage depreciation calculations. 13. Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. 14. Prepare and file sales tax, sales & use tax, unemployment tax, and other required filings. 15. Maintain multi-state sales tax exemption status and ensure ongoing compliance. 16. Support internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation and resolution of findings. 17. Analyze financial results, trends, and key drivers to identify risks and opportunities. 18. Evaluate and implement process and system improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and accuracy. 19. Strengthen and maintain internal controls, policies, and financial procedures. 20. Partner with leadership on financial planning, budgeting, and long-term business strategy. 21. Coordinate payroll-related accounting and collaborate with HR on related processes. 22. Support insurance renewals and maintain related financial documentation. 23. Perform ad hoc financial analysis and contribute to special projects as needed. 24. Provide cross-functional support across accounting, operations, and administrative functions in a small business setting. 25. Act as a trusted financial resource to leadership, bringing forward insights, recommendations, and areas for improvement. Skills/Qualifications To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 2. Experience working with external CPA firms on year-end tax preparation and financial reporting preferred. Works independently to accomplish tasks. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 7. Great organizational skills. 8. Proficient ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks efficiently and effectively. 9. Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, & Outlook. 10. Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop. 11. Preferred experience with paying invoices in Exostar, PIEE, and other government based company websites for invoicing. 12. Preferred experience with Expensify (or other company credit card submission based software) to review and manage company based credit card reconciliations. Education/Experience 1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required) 2. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience 3. Experience in small to mid-sized business environments preferred Technical Skills 1. Strong knowledge of GAAP 2. Knowledge of Paychex and/or Paychex Flex (Preferred) or other similar payroll software 3. Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop (required) 4. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) 5. Experience with accounting systems, ERP systems, or government contracting tools (preferred) 6. Familiarity with multi-state tax compliance Core Competencies Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities 1. Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy 2.
