The Senior Accountant supports the financial health and growth of the office through deeper technical expertise, analysis, and independent judgment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Focused on accounting functions, work collaboratively with the Controller and CFO to: Ensure the accuracy of the accounting records of the office. Perform advanced general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies. Oversee and review financial representative commissions and allowances for accuracy. Support vendor relationships and payroll activities for staff. Maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the office. Monitor banking activities of the office. Prepare and manage quarterly tax submissions to the IRS. Educate financial representatives on compensation including commissions, fees, and bonuses. Assist with audit preparation and support documentation requests. Focused on the financial health of the office, work collaboratively with the Controller, CFO, and Managing Directors to: Analyze financial statements and identify trends and variances. Forecast and prepare budgets for office operations. Monitor financial representative indebtedness and assist with reporting. Meet with leadership to review financial performance against budget projections. Recommend adjustments and corrective actions based on financial analysis. Monitor and maximize cash flow on home office reimbursement plans.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in accounting, including financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance, tax support, payroll, and benefits administration. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
