This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, and compliance. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to work independently. We are seeking a very detail-orientated candidate who can collaborate across multi-functional departments. In our fast-paced environment, one should expect this position's responsibilities to change and develop over time. Conduct thorough reconciliations and ongoing analyses of general ledger accounts within the construction management division on a regular basis Oversee and execute all accounting functions for the construction management division Track and assess expenses throughout our construction management procedures, implementing methods to gradually lower costs. Prepare and submit sales and use tax returns to ensure our compliance with all states where we do business. Drive ongoing improvement by recognizing and applying process upgrades, boosting efficiency throughout our financial operations. Supports the Accounting Specialist in investigating system errors concerning accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP). Collaborate with vendors to resolve billing inquiries and investigate discrepancies as necessary Carry out additional accounting, financial, and administrative duties, as well as special projects, whenever necessary. Seek ways to enhance existing procedures and help streamline workflows. Qualifications, Education, Requirements, Preferred Skills Solid understanding of accounting principles Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel Skilled in troubleshooting, problem-solving, analytical reasoning, and research Demonstrates strong technical abilities Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail Thorough and confident in decision making Committed to maintaining confidentiality Experienced in fast-paced, customer-oriented settings Capable of prioritizing and handling multiple projects under tight deadlines Communicates clearly and effectively Shows high accountability and initiative, able to work independently and responsibly Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field Over five years of experience in an accounting position Familiar with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, or similar ERP systems Understands sales tax requirements and compliance related to invoicing Has worked in environments involving multiple entities or divisions
