PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Corporate Reporting Analyst prepares high quality tax and entity financial reporting documents, in compliance with requirements, and maintains stakeholder relationship with Taxation. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex reporting challenges. Your work will support critical financial and tax reporting processes at CPKC, while giving you the opportunity to build strong stakeholder relationships and enhance reporting quality and efficiency.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
Account for taxes for certain CPKC entities, analyze related accounts, coordinate intercompany transfer pricing adjustments, and prepare summary financial information used by the tax group for provision calculation Prepare U.S. GAAP-compliant financial statements needed by internal stakeholders on a recurring basis, including coordination with the multiple internal stakeholders that provide information into the reporting process Prepare account reconciliations for income taxes and selected entities Assess reporting implications of significant financial transactions and draft related disclosures Identify, analyze and reconcile inconsistent information in order to recommend adjustments where necessary Identify and analyze possible improvements to the reporting process, with a particular focus on maintenance of entity reporting ledger and consolidation tool used in financial statement preparation, and implement selected solutions Ensure accounting and reporting process complies with applicable internal control (SOX) requirements; and Address and respond to queries from auditors and internal reviewers
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields CPA designated or training towards a CPA designation At least 2 years of experience in a corporate reporting role Knowledge of US GAAP requirements, desirable Possess a strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to set and meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment Strong verbal and written communication Skills

Management Conductor Program Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC.
