Job Description

About the Opportunity Show Me Organics is a vertically integrated cannabis company with retail, manufacturing, and cultivation operations in a rapidly expanding market. As we continue to scale, we are adding a Staff Accountant to our finance team to support daily accounting operations and own our accounts receivable function. This is a high-visibility role with real room to grow alongside the company and the industry. You will join an established finance group that includes a Chief Financial Officer, Director of Finance, Controller, Staff Accountant, and Accounts Payable Manager — giving you strong mentorship and a clear path to expand your scope over time. Position Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for full-cycle accounting support with a primary focus on accounts receivable and daily bookkeeping. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. This person keeps our day-to-day financial records accurate and current while supporting month-end close and broader accounting initiatives. Key Responsibilities Accounts Receivable Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, customer billing, and payment application Monitor aging reports, follow up on outstanding balances, and support collections efforts Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies Maintain accurate customer records and credit terms Daily Bookkeeping Record daily transactions, deposits, and cash activity across entities Perform regular bank and account reconciliations Maintain organized and audit-ready financial documentation Process journal entries and ensure transactions are coded correctly Full-Cycle Accounting Support Assist with month-end and year-end close activities Support general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations Help prepare schedules and reports for internal review and compliance Contribute to process improvements and accounting system efficiencies Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting Minimum of two years of experience as an accountant or in a comparable full-cycle accounting role Strong understanding of general accounting principles and the full accounting cycle Proven experience managing accounts receivable Proficiency with accounting software and intermediate Excel skills High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Must be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain a state cannabis agent identification card (where applicable) Preferred Qualifications Experience in a multi-entity or vertically integrated organization Experience with QuickBooks Online Prior cannabis industry experience is a plus, but not required
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
