Junior Accountant Martinus Rail - 3.2 Lees Summit, MO Job Details Full-time 1 hour ago Qualifications Microsoft Excel Productivity software Full Job Description Junior Accountant Job Summary The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting functions of the Accounting & Finance team under the direct supervision of the Senior Accountant. This role assists with transactional processing, account reconciliations, and financial reporting in a manner that ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This is a mandatory in-person role based in the Lee's Summit office. Key Responsibilities Assist with month-end and year-end close processes under the direction of the Senior Accountant Prepare and post journal entries with accuracy and appropriate supporting documentation Perform account reconciliations and assist in maintaining general ledger accuracy Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules as directed Maintain organized and complete financial records and documentation in accordance with company policy Support audit preparation by gathering and organizing required documentation Adhere to internal controls and company accounting policies at all times Attend and actively participate in daily in-office collaboration with the accounting team; this role requires full-time, in-person attendance at the Lee's Summit office and is not eligible for remote work Valid Drivers License Reliable transportation All other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Excellent written and verbal communication skills Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices Preferred Qualifications Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) Previous internship or accounting work experience Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or progress towards certification) Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements Core Competencies Analytical thinking Integrity and reliability Time management Problem solving Collaboration Adaptability Application Process Interested candidates should submit their resume and a brief cover letter outlining their qualifications and interest in the role.
