Job Description

Accountant Warrensburg, MO 64093 From $56,160 a year - Full-time From $56,160 a year - Full-time Founded in 1973, Care Connection for Aging Services is focused on providing opportunities to create positive aging experiences for the people we serve. We offer a wide variety of services, including nutrition, health and wellness, case management, family caregiver support, in-home services, and health insurance counseling. We are searching for an Accounting professional to join our Central Office team. The Accountant performs a variety of accounting tasks in preparing, recording and examining fiscal records. This position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all financial entries leading to production of monthly financial reports. Complete confidentiality must be maintained at all times in this position as sensitive information is maintained by the Fiscal Department. This position requires organizational skills, must be knowledgeable of fund accounting, and be able to work individually as well as in a team environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Utilize an automated financial management system to process general accounting, budgetary accounting, accounts receivable, and cash management. Accurately and timely process financial entries leading to the production of monthly financial reports. Maintain accounts receivable for the agency and work with Program Managers to ensure billings are paid timely. Process and reconcile all billings for Medicaid. Conducts quarterly comparison with State Medicaid authorization reports. Manage the financial obligations of assigned grants working closely with Program Managers to ensure deliverables are meeting the requirements of the grants and staying within the financial boundaries of the grant. Coordinate and conduct financial monitoring of contract providers. Analyze complex financial transactions and account activity and produce financial reports for annual audit, Form 990 preparation, and any other required audits. Evaluate financial data to identify variances, trends, or abnormalities. Assist Chief Financial Officer with agency's budget development and other special projects. Analyze and produce monthly, annual, and ad hoc financial statements and unit data reports to Program Managers, Executive Director, Board of Directors, and State and Federal funding sources. Follow Agency fiscal policies and procedures and provide proper and adequate controls and checks and balances. Interpret accounting policies and apply them to evolving situations. Maintain sound and effective fiscal operations according to GAAP and all relevant government policies and regulations. Exercise independent judgment and professional discretion in applying accounting principles and financial analysis.
