- Full-time Sales Order Accountant What's Awesome About Our Client? Privately held tech company where people stick around for decades, not years. A real 40-hour week. No after-hours calls, no weekend scrambles, no month-end close marathon. You can flex your start and end times, and you won't have anyone hovering over your shoulder. Easygoing team, low ego, helpful when you need them. Why This Job
- Sales Order Accountant This isn't a typical staff accountant job, which is the whole appeal.
You're not buried in month-end close and journal entries. You own the accounting side of the sales process. When a deal closes, you make sure it's right, get it billed, and follow it through to collection. You'll be regularly interacting with other departments such as the sales team and being a point of contact for various vendors and clients. There's variety to this role. You'll touch sales orders, third-party billing, inventory, pricing, and the general ledger, and you'll partner with salespeople, directors, and outside vendors along the way. If you like understanding how a business actually runs and being the person who keeps the money side accurate and moving, you'll feel right at home. You'll also start by training alongside the person who's run this role for years, so you're not figuring it out cold. That's institutional knowledge you can't pick up from a procedures binder. She's been there for the last 40 years and retiring soon, which says a lot about the company and how they treat their employees to get them to stick around so long. If you're looking to join a great work culture and take on an accounting role with a twist, this is an amazing opportunity.
What You'll Actually Do:
Own sales orders once a deal closes. Confirm the order's valid, classified right, and taxed correctly, then move it through to invoicing, billing, and collection. Run third-party billing, from pulling vendor invoices to sorting out who gets charged and how much. Keep the sales tracking and pricing spreadsheets current as products change. Watch sales activity and chase down anything that stalls, payment plans included, so it all gets billed and applied right. Help out with inventory and GL work tied to the sales process. Speak up with ideas. They're moving away from manual processes and want people who think that way.
What You Bring:
2 to 3 years of accounting experience, ideally past the data-entry stage and comfortable in the financials. A degree in accounting or finance, or a business background with real accounting experience behind it. Solid Excel. A lot of the job lives there. The confidence to reach out across departments and to outside vendors without being told to. Good instincts. You catch when something's off and go find out why. AP or AR experience is a plus, not a dealbreaker.
