Accountant II - Full Time Biltmore Workforce Management - 3.6 Asheville, NC Job Details Full-time 3 hours ago Qualifications Accounting systems Internal controls Microsoft Excel Driver's License IT Cross-functional communication Full Job Description Job Description The Accountant II will be responsible for preparing advanced general ledger and close activities, producing accurate financial statements for assigned functional areas, preparing budget variance explanations, reconciling complex balance sheet accounts, and preparing operational reporting and analysis as required. The Accountant II will need to have a familiarity with all relevant information systems, take ownership of assigned processes, and support process efficiency and continuous improvement. Commitment to integrity, business ethics and upholding and supporting internal controls is required, as is exhibiting a commitment to accounting discipline, professionalism, and process documentation. The Accountant II will need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as this position will serve as a liaison between operational teams and Accounting.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements for assigned functional areas. 2. Ensure all assigned reconciliations and journal entries are completed timely and with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency. 3. Prepare operational analytical reporting requests. 4. Assist Accounting team with various projects, including but not limited to: capital monitoring, cost segregation analysis, and annual financial statement audit. 5. Provide feedback to management regarding policy and procedure changes and the internal control environment. 6. Act as a liaison between operational departments and Accounting. 7. End to end ownership of assigned processes and associated documentation. 8. Ability to communicate well with various levels of management. 9. Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, reporting, automation, and process efficiency.Additional Responsibilities:
1. Assist with documenting procedures and work instructions. 2. Ad hoc analytical projects as required. 3. General assistance and support for leadership, department, and Company.Qualifications:
1. A four year degree in Accounting/Finance required. Additional education, training, and/or certifications desirable. 2. At least two (2) years of related accounting experience required. Equivalent combination of education/experience may be considered. Preferred candidate will have had prior accounting experience working in a corporate setting, preferably in the hospitality industry. 3. Experience in providing world class internal/external guest service. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; must be able to convey technical information clearly, concisely, and effectively to different audiences. 4. Demonstrated commitment to pursuing professional certification is preferred (i.e., preparing for CPA, CMA, other other certification examinations). 5. Keen attention to detail with a focus on quality, service and compliance. 6. Must have advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel and experience with multiple IT systems. Experience with Workday financial system preferred. 7. Proactive, exercises good judgment; comfort level with anticipating issues a plus. 8. Strong organizational and planning skills; prioritizes work and adapts as needed. 9. Ability to work as part of a team in a corporate setting.Physical Requirments:
1. This position will work in an office environment requiring manual dexterity, necessary for computer input and use of other business equipment and devices. 2. This position may be required to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. 3. Some travel will be required, including travel to/from the estate. 4.
